

Competitions
Each year the club and its members enter their films in both our own and outside festivals.

North V South is a fun competition for movie making clubs in the U.K. A theme is set and clubs submit entries up to a maximum of 20 minutes long, competing for the John Wright Trophy. The competition is held at the end of the year. (November 2011). The Southern heats are held in the village hall at Farnborough, Kent.

For more than 36 years the Kent Film Festival has provided amateur film-makers with the opportunity to show their films to appreciative audiences.The festival is held at the Canterbury Christchurch University. (End of September 2011)

SERIAC Film Festival
SERIAC holds its annual film festival (and AGM) each spring. It is open to any one who makes non-commercial movies within the region, with a discount for I.A.C members. (Next event March 2012)


2011 Winners: Club Film Unfounded Rumours: Marina Tropy, Best drama/story, Alex Dove Plate Audience vote, Regional Shield, Best film in festival. Troughton Films: Disappearing Sisters, Best photography History Bites, Best one minute film.

The Rob Knox Film Festival 2011 take place in the first week of June and culminates in an awards evening at Cineworld, Bexleyheath. Kent.
The festival now in its third year has gained a reputation amongst filmmakers, attracting entries from UK, Europe and the USA.The festival was established as a tribute to actor Rob Knox who played Marcus Belby in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince but was murdered shortly after completing his filming. (Summer 2012)

BIAFF (British and International Film Festival)
Top movies from the I.A.C International Competition. Enter and enjoy a great weekend in different parts of Great Britain each year. BIAFF 2012 is to be held in Weymouth by the Southern Counties Region of the I.A.C. Click here to watch further information.

Spotlight on Festivals

Triangle Competition

Graham Evans -Chairman
This competition is held between our club and the Orpington Video Club, Shooters Hill Club and Epsom Club. The clubs take it in turn to host the competition and act as judges. The three remaining clubs make a half-hour tape of their most entertaining films. Spring Park Film Makers have won this competition for the past four years.
Orpington won the trophy in 2011. (Next competition April 2012).

Clive Cobley
A two minute film competition held at the end of the year, on a subject chosen by the previous year’s winner. Judged by club members.


Annual Competition
This is held at the end of the summer. Judged by members of a chosen IAC Club, these films must be no longer than twelve minutes.
